A Southern Twist to BUSH’S® Baked Beans

Hey Mamas!

It's July 1st and I am super excited to finally start off the summer with our first family barbecue. My husband loves to sit outside and grill but for myself, I am always with the busy girls on the inside preparing the side dishes.

One of my favorite side dishes to make is BUSH’S® Baked Beans. Although I am a transitioning vegan, my family's favorite is BUSH’S® Maple & Cured Bacon Baked Beans.  With this quick recipe, it only took 10-15 minutes to prepare, bake and serve for the family to enjoy!

However, this is the perfect mix of savory and sweet! With this southern twist to BUSH’S® Baked Beans, you can make this as the perfect potluck dish for any barbecue setting. I highly recommend pairing this Southern  BUSH’S® Baked Beans dish with your favorite burger or hotdog style meal.

  • 1 can of BUSH’S® Maple & Cured Bacon Baked Beans
  • 1/2 cup of Chopped Onions
  • 1lb of Ground Turkey
  • 3-4 tbsp of Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup of Yellow Mustard
  • 1/4 cup of Spicy bbq sauce
  • 1/4 cup of Brown Sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp of Chopped Green Onions

  • Combine Turkey meat and chopped onions
  • Season with black pepper, garlic pepper, season salt, onion powder*
  • Brown meat on preheated stove lined with tbs of olive oil
  • Mix well and Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes
  • Top with a few tbsp of chopped green onions
Also, if you are a transitioning vegan like myself, I would recommend substituting the turkey meat with meatless ground and use BUSH’S® Vegetarian Baked Beans instead.
